Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee the daily financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor company accounts for accuracy
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments and collections
- Handle payroll and employee reimbursements
- Prepare and file VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and other HMRC submissions
- Assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasting
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential)
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualification (preferred or working towards)
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar financial role
- Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, financial reporting, and tax
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years in an accounting role
