CERTAX ACCOUNTING BRISTOL LIMITED is a professional accounting and tax consultancy firm providing comprehensive financial, bookkeeping, and tax advisory services to individuals and businesses. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage client accounts, ensure statutory compliance, and provide accurate financial and tax support services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting solutions while supporting clients with their financial and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in accordance with UK accounting standards
Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
Assist clients with tax planning and tax compliance matters
Prepare and file Corporation Tax returns and Self-Assessment tax returns
Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial records
Support clients with payroll processing and PAYE submissions
Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients regarding tax queries and compliance matters
Ensure deadlines are met for statutory filings and tax submissions
Provide financial advice and reporting to support client decision-making
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial documentation
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar accounting role
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, bookkeeping practices, and tax regulations
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines
Good communication and client relationship management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualification (or part-qualified) is desirable
